Home Mover Mortgages
Moving home should be an exciting prospect but it is often described as one of the most stressful things you can do, particularly when a mortgage is needed to secure the purchase.
Whilst a lot of moves are planned well in advance, you often find that the expiry of a mortgage deal doesn’t coincide exactly with the move which can complicate things. We will look at the options available with your existing lender, such as porting, and then compare them against the deals available on the whole market to ensure you get the best possible terms for your situation.

Product Transfer Mortgages
Quite simply, a product transfer is where you switch to a new product with your existing mortgage lender without making any changes to the term, loan amount or repayment type.
This would normally be done on expiry of a specific product but can also be done if you are paying the lenders Standard Variable Rate.
Buy To Let Mortgages
A Buy to Let mortgage is a type of mortgage secured against a property that is rented out. Ebor Mortgages provide independent Buy to Let Mortgage advice.
The majority of Buy to Let mortgages are arranged on an Interest Only basis with the rent that is generated covering the monthly payments. The outstanding balance is then paid back at the end of the term – either by selling the property or by using another suitable repayment vehicle.
Unlike a residential mortgage, the amount you can borrow is calculated based on the rent the property is likely to generate, rather than the amount of income you earn. Typically speaking, you will need to be able to provide a deposit of at least 25% of the purchase price or value of the property in order to secure a Buy to Let mortgage.
Holiday Let Mortgages
A Holiday Let mortgage is a mortgage which is secured against a property that is rented out on a short-term basis.
Like a traditional Buy to Let mortgage, most are set up on an interest only basis with the monthly payments being covered by the income that is generated from short term rentals. The outstanding balance is then paid back at the end of the term – either by selling the property or by using another suitable repayment vehicle.
